Senior mechatronics engineer (m/f/d)

Your Role
You take an essential role at each stage of our service robot's creation and take ownership of all electrically relevant tasks in the company. You will design, verify and bring our systems to mass production
Your Job
  • Lead the design and development of electrical systems for robotics applications, including selecting components, designing PCBs, and wiring.
  • Develop and program embedded systems, microcontrollers, and firmware to control and interface with mechatronic components.
  • Implement advanced control algorithms for precise motor movements and feedback control loops. E.g. BLDC-Motors of drawers and main drive.
  • Integrate a variety of sensors, such as IMUs, encoders, and vision systems, to enhance the robot's perception and navigation capabilities.
  • Create electrical prototypes and validate system functionality, iterating designs as needed.
  • Collaborate closely with mechanical engineers, software developers, and cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of mechatronic and electrical components.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues related to electrical and embedded software systems.
  • Develop testing protocols and validate system performance to meet project requirements.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of electrical schematics, firmware code, and system configurations.
Your Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in mechatronics engineering with a strong emphasis on electrical systems and embedded software.
  • Proficiency in CAD software for electrical design and PCB layout.
  • Expertise in embedded software development using language C++
  • Strong knowledge of microcontroller architectures and embedded systems.
  • Experience with hardware interfaces, communication protocols (e.g., SPI, I2C, CAN), and sensor integration.
  • Solid understanding of control theory, motion control, and feedback systems.
  • Strong problem-solving skills for diagnosing and resolving complex issues in mechatronic systems.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills for collaborating with cross-functional teams.
  • Project management and leadership skills for overseeing robotics projects from electrical design to embedded software development and integration.
